South Dakota Voter Registration and Participation Info:

All U.S. citizens who are 18 years of age, and residents of South Dakota are eligible to register to vote. You may register at your county auditor's office, city finance office, or with any notary public authorized by a county auditor. You may also obtain a mail-in voter registration form from the county auditor. Residents of South Dakota are also allowed to register to vote at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Tennessee Voter Registration and Participation Info:

Any U.S. citizen who will be 18 years of age before the election and a resident of the state for at least 20 days is eligible to register to vote in Tennessee. There are three ways to register. First, you may complete a registration form at your local county election commission office. Second, you may make an application for voter registration by mail. These forms may be obtained from the county election commission office, the post office and at various other public buildings. Third, if you are ill or have some other valid reason, arrangements can be made for the county election commission to provide for registration to take place at your home. Residents of Tennessee can also register to vote at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Texas Voter Registration and Participation Info:

All U.S. citizens who are 18 years of age on Election Day and are residents of the state are eligible to vote in Texas. To register, complete and return a voter registration application form, which are available at your local post office, libraries, Department of Motor Vehicles and some state agencies. Your spouse, parent or child (acting as an agent) may also complete and sign a voter registration application for you, provided that this person is a registered voter, or has applied for voter registration.

Utah Voter Registration and Participation Info:

Any U.S. citizen who is 18 years of age and has lived in the state 30 days prior to the election may register to vote in Utah. You may register to vote in person at your County Elections Office or by mail by requesting a mail-in application from the County Elections Office. Mail in applications may also be obtained from public libraries, post offices, banks and telephone books. Residents of Utah can also register to vote at the Department of Motor Vehicles

Vermont Voter Registration and Participation Info:

All U.S. citizens who are residents of Vermont, 18 years of age and have taken the Freeman's Oath may register to vote. To register, fill out a voter registration form at the town clerk's office. Mail in registrations may be obtained through your local town clerk's office or the Secretary of State's office. Forms must be submitted with proof that the Freeman's Oath has been administered; the Freeman's Oath may be administered by your local town clerk, notary, Justice of the Peace, motor vehicle inspectors and state and local police officers, as they are ex-officio notaries for the state of Vermont. Currently, Vermont does not allow registration at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Virginia Voter Registration and Participation Info:

All U.S. citizens who are 18 years of age and reside in Virginia are eligible to register to vote. To register, you may appear in person at any voter registrar's office in the state, or at special registration sites open at night and on weekends (contact your local voter registrar's office for more information.) Mail-in registration is not allowed. Upon registering to vote, you do not indicate party affiliation. Virginia's Motor Voter law, allowing qualified citizens to register to vote at the Department of Motor Vehicles, takes effect in March 1996.

Washington Voter Registration and Participation Info:

All U.S. citizens and Washington residents who are at least 18 years of age by Election Day are eligible to register to vote. You can register in person, and may do so at the office of the County Auditor, County Elections Department, or the office of your City or Town Clerk. Mail in voter registration cards are available at the County Auditor's office, public schools, fire stations, public libraries and most state agencies. Residents of Washington can also register to vote at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Washington DC Voter Registration and Participation Info:

All U.S. citizens, 18 years of age or older, and residents of the District of Columbia are eligible to register to vote in D.C. To register to vote, send a completed mail-in voter registration application form, available at public libraries, fire houses, police stations, and from the D.C. Board of Elections. You may also register to vote at the Department of Motor Vehicles. The mail in voter registration form must be postmarked at least 30 days prior to the election for you to be eligible to vote.

West Virginia Voter Registration and Participation Info:

All U.S. citizens who will be 18 years old by the next election, and have been residents of the state and county or municipality at least 30 days prior to an election may register to vote. To register in person, you may appear at your county clerk's office or driver's licensing facility. You may also register by mail by obtaining a mail in form from your county clerk. The mail in form must be received by the county clerk prior to the close of registration.

Wisconsin Voter Registration and Participation Info:

All U.S. citizens, 18 years of age or older and residents of the state for at least ten days are eligible to register to vote in Wisconsin. You can register to vote in person at your Municipal Clerk's office. You can also register by completing and mailing in a voter registration card, which are available at your municipal clerk's office. SPECIAL NOTE: voter registration is required only in municipalities with a population of more than 5,000. If you miss the voter registration deadlines, you can also register to vote at the polls on election day. Be sure to bring a valid form of identification listing your address. If you do not have proof of residence, the information on the registration form can be corroborated by another elector who resides within the same municipality.

Wyoming Voter Registration and Participation Info:

All U.S. citizens who are 18 years of age and residents of Wyoming are eligible to register to vote. To register, you must sign a registration oath form in the presence of a registry agent at his proper polling place at a primary election, or at the office of the county or city clerk in the principal office building. There is no current system for mail-in registration.
