A Thank You to 'Charmed'By Chad A
Episode Air Date Oct 13, 2000 - Last season, I wrote a review of a 'Charmed' episode that made me angry - A group of evil beings of some sort was introduced into the show, kind of an Evil Cabal. What made me angry was that this group of evil beings wore very elaborate ceremonial robes - with upright pentacles on them. I was annoyed that a fantasy show that had bothered to get so many things RIGHT could go so terribly WRONG in a single episode, associating the upright pentacle with these evil and demonic forces. Well, I am writing this to thank you to the writers (And probably wardrobe) of Charmed, and here's why: As some of you know, the new season of 'Charmed' started abtou three weeks ago. We've been introduced to new issues, new bad guys, and a new hair color for Phoebe. This week we were also re-introduced to the 'Evil Cabal', those scary, shadowy enemies of the 'Charmed Ones'. They wore the same elaborate hooded robes, but this time the big pentacles on the back were inverted, and much more sinister. They got it right and changed the symbols! Now at this time I would like to point out that I in no way take credit for 'Charmed' making this change - I would hope that my previous article may have had a small part to play in the change, but I would rather think that it was the outpouring of mail and viewer complaints from the communtiy that made this happen, and I'd like to give another hearty 'Thank You' to anyone out there who wrote to the makers of 'Charmed' and expressed your displeasure at their incorrect use of the pentacle - you see, as a community our voice CAN be heard. Blessed Be! Chad A. |
