Book Review: Witch- A Magickal Journey, By Fiona Horne

By Dylan Masson

For those of you who've somehow missed out on my previous reviews of Fiona's books, do not pass "Go", click immediately on the links to the right. Witch- A Magickal Journey, is the much awaited international release by Ms. Horne. Over the last year, I have received scores of emails asking when her books would be available in our hemisphere.

Well, the time has come (sort of). Witch- A Magickal Journey is a compilation of the first two books, edited and reorganized for an international audience. Don't worry though, all of the best elements of the first two books can be still be found between its covers. In fact, very little has been removed. This was a great relief to myself, as I was a bit worried that it might have suffered the same fate as other compilations that I've seen (overeager editing in order to fit into a publisher's requirements).

I was pleasantly surprised to find all of the autobiographical and personal observation aspects of Witch- A Personal Journey still present. As they really gave the reader an understanding of what it is to be a modern Witch, these were aspects that I felt really made the first two books. Add to this the wealth of reference information, in the form of spells, correspondences, etc. from both books, and you have a well-rounded volume that would make a great addition to any Witch's book shelf.
